Welcome Family!

My mom, aunt Darcy and niece Ryah are arriving today, I am so excited to see them! I just talked to my mom and if you can imagine the three of them (you might have to be family to understand this one) traveling together, then you would know that the morning has been extremely event filled already! I'll keep you posted with pictures and stories while they are here!

Happy Anniversary Mike and Ash!!

Beat Ball State

Go Huskers! We'll be at Beef O' Brady's watching the game today with the Kentuckiana Huskers group that we joined! The last game we watched with the Kentuckiana Huskers there were 80 other fans, not quite like going to Lincoln, but it's a decent substitute.

Belly Laughs

A friend of mine just gave me the book Belly Laughs written by Jenny McCarthy and after being so tired that night and going to sleep at 8:30 I woke up at 2:30 in the morning to go to the bathroom and was wide awake. I was up til 4:30 a.m. and in that time read the entire book. I heard the book was a quick and funny read filled with the blunt truth of what Jenny McCarthy experienced while pregnant and it sure was. I really feel for that girl, she had it pretty rough sometimes. If you haven't read the book yet I definitely recommend that you do, pregnant or not, you might be surprised.

We had another ultrasound this week and everything is still looking great. We got a great picture of the arm and Corey quickly pointed out that the correct bones were visible. I was just thinking that it was great that our baby was waving to us. It is so crazy to see how much the baby has grown and it is such a great feeling to see him/her (by the way we will definitely find out the sex as soon as possible) move around and hearing the heartbeat is absolutely priceless. I imagine I will be in awe each and every time we get to experience this. As I said before it is so reassuring at this stage to hear and see these things because I am not quite showing yet and am not feeling any movement inside me yet. My nausea has subsided but I am still hitting a brick wall around the 9:00 hour. I haven't had any specific cravings, but definitely have the craving to eat!

Ok...as for the Husker game last weekend! The end result was not what we were looking for, but the weekend was GREAT! It took us 7 1/2 hours to get to KC and another 3 hours to get to Lincoln. We split the drive up each way. We were able to spend time with lots of great friends and had a blast. I was even a trooper on Saturday night and was out with the gang until 2 or so in the a.m. Cheryl was a very gracious host as we arrived late Sat. night/Sun. morning with 6 extra guests to spend the night. THANKS!

Liston and Laila also had lots of fun playing with Lola and Jazz. We made several attempts to get a "good" picture of the four of them together and this is the best that I could get.

We are looking forward to my mom and aunt's arrival next week and we are also looking forward to my cousin Carrie's (and Paul's) baby arriving any day now (she was due on the 19th)!

Until next time...Have a great weekend!

Happy Birthday Ashley!!!! Happy Anniversary Mike and Maggie!!!!

Go Huskers!!!

Corey and I along with the dogs are heading to Nebraska today. We made a last minute decision to pack up for yet another road trip. This is a huge game for the Huskers against #1 USC, it would be great if you could all watch the game on ABC and cheer for them! Maybe you'll even see us, we'll be wearing RED!

We are heading out this afternoon and will drive to Kansas City where we will stay with Mona and Korey Tuttle for the night. It will be nice to see their new house and their new basement finishing project! I am sure Liston and Laila are going to love to see Lola and Jazz too! I am hoping that we have a vet free visit this time! Jeff and Mandy live in KC as well and we hope to see them too!!!

Saturday morning we'll head to Lincoln for the game and to see Corey's mom!! We're staying at Cheryl's but I imagine we'll be tail gaiting and celebrating the majority of the time we are there. I hope I'll be able to hang as my bed time these days is well before the end of this game. We already know of several of you that will be at the game but if we haven't chatted about it, let us know if you will be there too!

We're heading back on Sunday and I will be sure to post all of the pictures that we take, I plan to take a lot!!! Trudy especially has been begging for pictures of me in my Husker gear...she's going to get them!

My first blog

I decided at some point a while ago that I wouldn't blog until I had kids. You all know we don't have any kids (the human kind anyway) but now that we are expecting a BABY, I think it is a fine time to get started.

It is my goal to update this on a regular basis with pictures and posts. I figure since ALL of our family and friends are in different locations than we are this will hopefully be a central place for me to keep you in the loop.

Oh, as for the baby portion...we are so excited to be expecting! It has been a very long road! Our due date is April 2nd, that puts me at 11 weeks right now. It is still a long road ahead and we are praying that all continues to go well. Corey and I went to the doctor last week and we heard the heartbeat for the first time and the ultrasound looked great. The baby was moving all over and we were able to see the heart beating as well. It was a great feeling! I have been feeling great, of course I've been a little extra tired and get a little nauseous when it is time to eat but other than that all has been smooth.
Check out the ultrasound image below. I know it is a little hard to decipher these things, but you should be able to find the head, body, arms and legs.

I guess that's it for my first blog! Feel free to leave comments, I'd love to hear from each of you!
