We ended up taking Liston to the emergency vet last Thursday night/Friday morning around 1:30 a.m. and again on Friday. Her eye took a turn for the worse and we didn't want to risk anything. Instead of healing after the keratectomy Liston's eye became infected and formed a deep corneal ulcer. The vet said she was close to wanting to perform surgery but wanted to try some different eye drops first. We started the new eye drops (5 different types) on Friday and are still going strong. We went for a recheck yesterday and her eye is looking much, much better, but still not healed. At least we are heading in the right direction. We felt so bad for Liston and it was pretty scary for a while. Many of you reading this are dog/pet lovers and understand how emotional and frightening it is when your pet is hurt. Please send some good vibes to Liston's eye!
Needless to say we did not end up going to Lexington. I guess we'll save that adventure for a different weekend!
